Sex Health BenefitsThis week!

sexSome of you may remember reading an article entitled "Sex Health" in last week's Health & Beauty edition about an upcoming sex debate. Tamica Joseph, also known as Lady Q for her popular radio show Positive Choice, is a personality at SOS Radio. Tamica was inspired to create an entertaining event that is mainly a sex debate, called "Let's Talk About Sex." Part of the reason for creating the event is because "radio is limited in what you can say." Panellists for this night will be a number of locals and also a number of local experts on the subject. The ultimate goal is to educate the community, but also to have fun doing so.

Together with Tamica, Health & Beauty will be sharing Sex Health Benefits leading up to her event weekly. This week's Sex Health Benefit;Sex Helps to keep your Immune System Strong

People who have sex have higher levels of what defends the body against germs, viruses and other intruders. One study (of college students) found that students who have sex once or twice a week have higher levels of a certain antibody, compared to students who don't. Those who have sex, or more sex, have significantly higher levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA). Your IgA immune system is your body's first line of defence. Its job is to fight off invading organisms at their entry points, reducing or even eliminating the need for activation of your body's immune system.

Of course, you can't replace the other ways to keep your immune system in shape with just having sex or more sex. To reap the benefits, you'll still have to take care of yourself by eating right, staying active, getting enough sleep, keeping up with your vaccinations and using condoms if you don't know both of your STD statuses. Luckily sex counts as "moderately intense exercise."

Conclusion: Sexually active people take fewer sick days!

Get your tickets asap to be a part of the debate. The first 30 people who show up will be offered the following:

-A complimentary glass of wine, courtesy

of Tamica and SOS Radio.

-Fruit covered with chocolate, courtesy of

Exquisite Design & Decoration.

-A little "goody" gift, courtesy of Adult Toy Box.

That's just the beginning. Throughout the night, there will be a chocolate fountain and fresh fruits available for all guests, free of charge, as long as it lasts. It's a great way to socialize, talk, and have a good time. Let's Talk About Sex is happening on March 4. Price: $10. Time: 8:30-11:30pm (doors open at 8:00pm). Ages: 18+ and ID is a must. Dress code: Respectful – no hats, no caps, no flips flops.
