MAHO--Maho Group announced that more than 100 people attended its two-day job fair held at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino in late September, and signed up for jobs in the upcoming high tourist season and onward at the resort.
A number of applicants, based on their qualifications and interviews at the job fair, have already been called by the Maho Group, which owns and operates the resort, for a follow-up interview.
Those persons selected for available positions will receive training in the procedure of the resort and best practices in preparation for the busy high season.
The job fair is held by the Maho Group twice a year to recruit staff for the season and also provide job opportunities. Making use of the job fair were a total of 100 people with Dutch nationality or legal working papers for the country. Seven persons applying were French side residents.
Positions are available in all departments within the resort, especially in the Food and Beverage Departments. There is a great need for chefs, sous-chefs and kitchen helpers. However, there were very few applicants at the job fair seeking those positions.
Maho Group said it continues to be committed to providing employment for the community, and training and upgrading for its employees. “Our employees are at the core of our success. They play a major role in guests having an exceptional experience and making a decision to return to St. Maarten time and again.”
